About this opportunity
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is seeking proposals for the Computational ADME Tox AnaLYsis for Safer Therapeutics (CATALYST) program, which aims to develop AI/ML-enabled in silico human physiology modeling platforms to replace the current preclinical animal studies used in drug development. The program is divided into two phases, with Phase I focusing on accelerated technology development and qualification across three technical areas: data discovery and predictive drug safety models, living systems tools for model development, and in silico simulation-based human physiology models. Successful performers from Phase I will transition to Phase II, which will be led by pharmaceutical product sponsors to demonstrate the use of the in silico platforms in regulatory filings to replace animal studies. CATALYST will use an Other Transaction agreement, and proposals are due on November 25, 2024 for solution summaries and January 31, 2025 for full proposals.
This opportunity is not set-aside, and multiple awards are anticipated with a mix of universities, non-profits, small businesses, and large businesses eligible to propose. The potential award values or budget ranges have not been specified, and there are no named incumbents or current contractors.
