About this opportunity
The Air Force Test Pilot School Operating Location at Edwards Air Force Base, California has issued a Special Notice for a sole-source procurement of Compunetix Hardware Warranty services. Published on January 22, 2026, by the Department of the Air Force, this notice announces the government's intention to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract exclusively to Compunetix, Inc., based in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The procurement is conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 for commercial services and FAR Part 13 for simplified acquisition procedures. The sole-source justification is predicated on Compunetix being the only responsible source capable of providing the required products and services. This special notice provides an opportunity for other contractors to submit competing proposals if they can demonstrate they meet the government's requirements.
Interested contractors must submit a technical package by 4:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on January 28, 2026, providing clear and convincing evidence of their capability to supply direct sales of systems and accessories, replacement parts, extended manufacturer's warranty software support, and hardware repair and maintenance services. All responding contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov and should address special commercial contract requirements including Commercial Financing, Warranty Provisions, and Delivery Information in accordance with FAR Part 12. The government anticipates awarding the contract on January 30, 2026. Submissions should be directed to Carlos Barrera at carlos.barrera.8@us.af.mil or by phone at 661-275-2442. The government will evaluate responses received within five days of publication to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted, though this notice does not constitute a commitment to award a contract.
