About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) is soliciting prototype development for the Common Autonomous Multidomain Launcher (CAML), a mobile, autonomous/optionally crewed cross-domain fires launcher system. The procurement seeks development of two variants: CAML-H (Heavy) based on a M1075 Palletized Loading System integrated with Tomahawk or Patriot missiles, and CAML-M (Medium) based on a Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles with Multiple Launch Rocket System or AIM-9X interceptors, both featuring autonomous resupply capabilities. Only U.S. companies with the ability to process and store SECRET information and hardware are eligible to participate in this competitive process. The evaluation consists of three phases: a 10-page Solutions Brief submission, pitch sessions for selected companies in August 2025, and potential prototype proposals for award consideration. The Solutions Brief deadline is July 30, 2025, with the intent to award Other Transaction Agreements for Prototype (OTAP) under 10 U.S.C. 4022.
This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designations and no current contractors or incumbents are identified in the notice. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the prototype development timelines are specified as 18 to 36 months from contract award. The RCCTO plans to rapidly prototype multiple launcher variants for operational assessments, suggesting potential for multiple awards across the two CAML variants. The place of performance is designated as Huntsville, Alabama, which aligns with the Army's significant research and development presence in that region. The solicitation emphasizes innovative technical solutions that can enhance cross-domain military capabilities, indicating the Army's focus on advancing autonomous systems for multi-domain operations.
