About this opportunity
The Department of the Army's Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires has issued a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (CAML) program's autonomous mobility platform development. Published on December 1, 2025, this Special Notice seeks industry input from qualified sources capable of designing, developing, and producing autonomous vehicles compatible with palletized payload systems. The RFI represents an early-phase market research effort to identify potential contractors and shape the Army's acquisition strategy for future CAML development phases. Interested organizations are invited to submit capability statements demonstrating relevant experience and technical competencies. This Special Notice is classified under Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (NAICS 541715) and falls within the National Defense R&D Services category (PSC AC33).
The primary objective of this RFI is to identify U.S. companies with expertise in autonomous vehicle fabrication and autonomous systems integration capable of delivering three key capabilities within 12 to 18 months: an autonomous mobility platform with self-loading and unloading functionality for 40,000 to 60,000-pound palletized payloads, a convoy leader vehicle capable of commanding multiple autonomous platforms, and an autonomous command and control system. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by December 15, 2025, at noon central time. Eligible participants must be U.S.-based companies with demonstrated experience in autonomous vehicle development, fabrication, and integration. The RFI includes supplementary engagement opportunities, including an industry day tentatively scheduled for January 21–22, 2026, and an optional field demonstration planned for the third and fourth quarters of fiscal year 2026, both designed to facilitate industry partnerships and communicate Army objectives more comprehensively.
