About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed price award under solicitation W81K0223Q0067 to Roche Diagnostics for the replacement of a Cobas b221 Blood Gas Analyzer at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. The current government-owned analyzer has reached the end of its life expectancy and is no longer supported for preventive maintenance and repair. Maintaining the Cobas system is necessary to continue performing and reporting the required Pleural Fluid pH Diagnostics, and to interface with the Military Health System (MHS) Genesis network. This is not a request for proposal, and a formal solicitation will not be issued. Interested vendors can provide supporting documents demonstrating their product capabilities and specifications, which will be used for future acquisitions.

This procurement will be conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13, with no set-aside designation. The total award value is $39,317.25 for the replacement Cobas b221 Blood Gas Analyzer. The decision to maintain the Cobas system was based on the need for compatibility with the existing infrastructure and the avoidance of additional costs associated with staff training and hardware configuration for a new system.
