About this opportunity

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain knowledge and information about vendor capabilities to provide multi-function devices (MFDs) for CMS's hybrid return-to-work workforce. The RFI is not a solicitation for proposals, but rather an effort to explore alternative solutions and determine industry best practices for leasing, right-sizing, and maintaining a large number of both black/white and color MFDs.

The purpose of this RFI is to gather information on vendor capabilities to provide MFDs, including network testing, and to explore industry best practices for leasing, right-sizing, and maintaining these devices. CMS is seeking information on MFDs that meet specific requirements, such as EPEAT Silver registration or higher, compliance with federal regulations, and various paper handling, printing, connectivity, scanning, security, and administrative capabilities. The responses to this RFI are due by August 22, 2024, and CMS may request demonstrations of the vendors' technology to ensure it meets the requirements. The RFI provides details on the Freedom of Information Act and how vendors can protect confidential information in their submissions.
