About this opportunity
The United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa is seeking a contractor to design and refresh the Club Lounge at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. The procurement encompasses comprehensive interior design and renovation services, including equipment installation, furniture procurement, bar modifications, and facility reconfiguration to modernize The Lounge while maintaining functionality, safety, and efficiency for community patrons. Key contract requirements include completing all work within 30 calendar days of award, ensuring compliance with fire codes and health regulations, coordinating with the NAF Facility Manager throughout the project, and adhering to manufacturer installation guidelines. The work must reflect a contemporary European lounge style blending speak-easy elements with multifunctional entertainment capabilities, and all deliverables require government review and approval, including final design layouts, specification sheets, warranties, installation completion reports, and disposal documentation. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 24, 2026, with a due date for questions or comments of March 6, 2026; a full solicitation is expected to follow this pre-solicitation phase.
This opportunity is not designated as a set-aside contract for any particular business category. The scope of work includes specific quantifiable elements such as installation of a 209-inch LED wall, an 8-table high-top set with 30 stools, a 7.55-meter high bench, 20 standard tables with 60 chairs, a 3.5-meter bar counter extension, commercial-grade equipment including an ice machine and dishwasher, and removal and disposal of six existing TV displays and other facility elements. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive nature of the project—involving equipment procurement, structural modifications, furniture installation, and specialized audio-visual integration—suggests a substantial contract value. The classified NAICS code 541410 (Interior Design Services) and PSC code Z2JZ (Repair or Alteration of Miscellaneous Buildings) indicate that interior design firms and general contractors with facility renovation experience are the primary target audience for this opportunity.
