The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Omaha is seeking a contractor to conduct a Class III archaeological and Traditional cultural property survey on lands where USACE has cultural resource management authority associated with the Big Bend and Oahe Project Offices. The purpose is to identify cultural resources to facilitate USACE's management responsibilities under Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The contract involves a base and three option areas totaling approximately 12,562 acres in South Dakota. Key requirements include a kick-off meeting, work plan, literature review, fieldwork, draft and final reports, site forms, and geospatial data. The purpose of this work is to identify cultural resources to facilitate USACE’s management responsibilities under Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and to assist USACE in taking into account the effects of future undertakings within the survey area in accordance with Section 106 of the NHPA.
