About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is procuring thirteen National Stock Numbers of military weapon system components, including shafts, levers, control assemblies, cradles, adapters, pumps, carriages, slides, triggers, ammunition feeders, tripod leg sections, and locks. The procurement will utilize FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation and requires vendors to meet extensive technical documentation requirements, including potential Product Verification Testing, qualified products list compliance, and specific manufacturing process certifications. All items are classified as defense articles subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations, requiring manufacturers to register with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. The government has consolidated these requirements into a single long-term contract to improve supply availability, reduce administrative costs, and minimize inventory requirements. Interested parties have until January 30, 2026—fifteen days from the pre-solicitation notice posting date—to identify their interest and capability to satisfy the government's requirements, with the full solicitation becoming available on http://www.dibbs.bsm.dla.mil/ on or about January 30, 2026.
This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside with full and open competition, and market research has identified four vendors expressing interest, including J&N Metal Products, Advanced CNC Manufacturing, VPS Controls, and Steelmasters. The contract is structured as a firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract with a maximum value of $3,052,882.31 over five years, consisting of a three-year base period followed by two optional one-year periods. The Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support division in Columbus, Ohio will manage the procurement, with delivery required to CONUS locations and unit of order specified as each item. The consolidation of these thirteen items into a single contract was determined by the Contracting Officer to be necessary and justified under FAR 7.107-2, with anticipated benefits including reduced operational costs, automated procurement, decreased lead times, and improved warfighter equipment operational readiness.
