About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 11 circuit card assemblies with National Stock Number 7R-5998-017177507-E7, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. The procurement involves a highly specialized electronic component that requires engineering source approval from the design control activity to maintain part quality. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1, indicating a sole-source procurement strategy. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to submit proposals, capability statements, or quotations, with the government retaining discretion on whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The proposed contract requires potential suppliers to meet stringent qualification procedures approved by the cognizant government engineering activity.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement, and the quantity is limited to 11 units. Suppliers must demonstrate unique design capabilities, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge to be considered. Drawings for the circuit card assembly are not available, which may complicate vendor preparation. The solicitation suggests that existing approved sources retain critical data rights and manufacturing knowledge essential to maintaining part quality. While no specific award value is mentioned, the technical complexity and potential sole-source nature suggest this could be a high-value, specialized procurement with strict technical and qualification requirements.
