About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 3 circuit card assemblies (NSN 7R-5998-016508106-E8) with a specific engineering and technical qualification process. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a highly specialized procurement where only previously approved sources can bid, with strict source approval requirements from NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support. The contract is considered flight-critical, meaning potential suppliers must submit detailed technical documentation demonstrating their capability to produce the specific electronic component. Interested parties must provide comprehensive technical data based on their production experience, and any new sources must undergo a rigorous qualification process approved by the government engineering activity. The government will consider proposals submitted within 45 days of the publication date, with a potential award contingent on meeting specific qualification requirements.
The solicitation does not have a specific set-aside designation and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the notice. The total quantity is explicitly stated as 3 units, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. The contract opportunity is currently open and will remain available until June 23, 2025, providing an extended window for potential bidders to prepare and submit their qualifications. While no specific award value is disclosed, the technical complexity and specialized nature of the circuit card assembly suggest this is likely a high-value, technical procurement. The government reserves the right to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, emphasizing the unique and critical nature of the required electronic component. Potential suppliers must carefully review the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures to ensure compliance with all technical and qualification requirements.
