About this opportunity

The Department of the Treasury Bureau of Engraving and Printing is soliciting quotes for Ultra High Purity (UHP) chromium targets to support currency production operations through Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract 2031ZA26Q00041. The targets, measuring 16x131x402mm with 99.6% minimum purity, will be used in physical vapor deposition plating processes for U.S. currency plate-making. Prospective quoters must submit a Certificate of Analysis for chemical composition and provide samples for independent government testing, with initial delivery required within 12 weeks of contract award. The award will be made using Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) methodology to the quoter offering the lowest evaluated price that meets all acceptability standards. Critical submission deadlines include questions due January 29, 2026 at 3:30 P.M. ET, followed by technical quotes and pricing due February 5, 2026 at 3:30 P.M. ET (recently extended to February 11, 2026 per amendment SF 30), with prices to remain firm for 90 calendar days following submission.

This is a full and open competition acquisition with no set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractor information has been identified. The contract will procure 24 chromium targets annually across five ordering periods, with a minimum aggregate of 12 sets and maximum of 120 sets through March 17, 2031. Delivery locations include the Eastern Currency Facility in Washington, D.C. and the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, with F.O.B. delivery terms to both sites. Payment will be made upon inspection and acceptance by the Contracting Officer's Representative, with a 30-calendar-day constructive acceptance period. Quoters must comply with multiple FAR clauses including Buy American requirements, organizational conflict of interest disclosures, and various federal certifications, and facility personnel may require security clearances for access.
