About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command is soliciting off-site hard chromium electroplating services for landing gear components used in naval aircraft repair operations. The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) at Naval Air Station North Island, California, seeks to procure electroplating services for various F-18 and E-2/C-2 aircraft landing gear parts including pistons, steering collars, rod assemblies, universal joints, and caster barrels. Contractors must demonstrate compliance with all terms and conditions of the solicitation and the Statement of Work, providing sufficient detail to prove understanding of the Government's technical requirements. Evaluation will be conducted on a lowest-price, technically acceptable basis, with awards made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures without discussions unless deemed in the Government's best interest. The original proposal due date of January 23, 2026 has been extended through multiple amendments, with the current deadline established as January 23, 2026, allowing potential offerors adequate time to prepare comprehensive quotes.
This procurement is designated as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside under NAICS code 332813 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The contract period of performance runs from January 30, 2026 through August 31, 2026, with approximately 98 total parts to be processed across multiple line items, with quantities ranging from 4 to 30 units per part number. The contractor will be responsible for providing their own facility, tools, equipment, and materials, and must deliver a 12-month commercial warranty along with complete documentation and certificates of conformance for each processed part. Services will be delivered to FRCSW in San Diego, California, with the contractor required to perform all processing at their own facility using their equipment and processes in compliance with specified military electroplating standards. No specific award value is disclosed in the solicitation documents, though the firm fixed pricing structure will be evaluated based on submitted quotes for the identified electroplating work.
