About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive Chemical and Hazardous Waste Collection, Transportation, and Disposal Services across the New England Region, covering ten states including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. The Sources Sought Notice is a Request for Information (RFI) designed to identify potential sources with expertise in hazardous waste management for DEA field offices and laboratories. Contractors must demonstrate capabilities in handling diverse waste types, including ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic, sharps, bio-hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste, with specific requirements for security clearances and 24/7 emergency response capabilities. Interested firms must submit capability statements limited to 15 pages, which should include company details, relevant certifications, past performance evidence, and a technical approach to waste management. The response deadline is January 30, 2025, with submissions to be sent to Ana Villanueva.
The procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and will cover a base year contract with four additional option years of service. The contract will encompass waste management services at over 50 specified DEA and FBI locations, with varying waste collection and disposal frequencies. Pricing will be structured through Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) that differentiate between waste types and container sizes, with specific requirements for waste disposition such as recycling universal waste and thermal destruction of medical and controlled substance waste. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive regional scope and multi-year contract structure suggest a significant procurement opportunity for qualified environmental services providers. The contract will require strict adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations, and contractors must demonstrate robust capabilities in waste characterization, transportation, and environmentally responsible disposal methodologies.
