About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 5 each of Gun Chargers under NSN 7H-1005-016764188, classified under PSC 1005 for Guns, Through 30Mm. This procurement is designated as a sole source acquisition, meaning the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one qualified source due to the specialized nature of the item. The part must be acquired from or repaired by sources specified on source control or selected item drawings as defined by DoD-STD-100, as suitable technical data, Government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge are not available to permit acquisition from alternative sources. The procurement requires FOB Origin delivery terms, and interested parties can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point at Document Automation and Production Service in Philadelphia or via ASSIST-Online. The due date for this opportunity is September 30, 2025, with the original posting date of June 2, 2024.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, making it available to all qualified contractors who meet the stringent source control requirements. The quantity specified is limited to 5 units of the gun charger components, reflecting a relatively small-scale acquisition typical of specialized military hardware maintenance or replacement needs. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are mentioned in the notice, though the sole source nature suggests there may be existing relationships with qualified manufacturers. The timeline spans over a year from posting to due date, indicating either a complex procurement process or allowing sufficient time for potential sources to demonstrate their qualifications under the DoD-STD-100 requirements. The technical data package version is specified as TDP VER 002 with reference number 8566240-3, providing specific identification for the required components.
