About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey is issuing a Firm Fixed Price competitive contract for Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) to support maintenance operations at the O-Level for the CH-53K Aircraft under both domestic and foreign military sales (FMS) programs. This pre-solicitation notice, with solicitation number N68335-26-R-1051, outlines the procurement of specialized maintenance and repair equipment including support assemblies, installation tools, removal tools, torque reactors, and protective covers. A critical requirement for this acquisition is Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 compliance, which mandates implementation of 110 security requirements from NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2 to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in contractor information systems, with self-assessments required every three years. The formal solicitation will be posted on the SAM website in the near future, and no telephone or written requests for the solicitation will be accepted; vendors must monitor the SAM website regularly for amendments. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 16, 2026, with a notice due date of March 14, 2026, though this represents the administrative deadline for the notice itself rather than a proposal deadline, which will be specified in the formal solicitation.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, limiting competition to qualified small business concerns. The spreadsheet attachment details 30 specific parts with National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and part numbers, with total buy quantities ranging from 5 to 22 units per part, distributed between USMC domestic purchases and Foreign Military Sales requirements. No incumbent contractor or current contractor names are disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, and specific award values or budget ranges have not been published at this stage. The contract falls under NAICS code 332216 (Saw Blade and Handtool Manufacturing) and PSC code 4920 (Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Shop Specialized Equipment), indicating the technical nature of the equipment being procured. Interested small business vendors should prepare to meet CMMC Level 2 requirements and be prepared to respond once the formal solicitation is released on the SAM website.

This synopsis is hereby amended to include the following CMMC Requirement:
Cybersecurity is a top priority for the Department of Defense (DoD). The defense industrial base (DIB) faces increasingly frequent and complex cyberattacks. To strengthen DIB cybersecurity and better safeguard DoD information, the DoD developed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program to assess DoD cybersecurity requirements pertaining to Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
The items in this acquisition have been deemed to fall into CMMC Level 2- Self-Assessment. CMMC Level 2 requires implementation of the 110 security requirements set forth in NIST SP 800–171 Rev. 2 to protect CUI in contractor information systems. Level 2 assessments are conducted every three years. CMMC Level 2 self-assessment scores are entered by the OSA into SPRS.
