About this opportunity

Paragraph 1:

The Department of Health and Human Services' Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Acquisition and Grant Services is seeking to procure two previously owned CONVIRON growth chambers, specifically a Model GEN1000 and a Model GEN2000. The purpose of this requirement is to acquire these chambers to simulate real-life growing conditions of covered produce and conduct experiments observing the survival of foodborne pathogens and absorption of heavy metals. The FDA has already acquired similar chambers from the same manufacturer and requires the additional GEN1000 and GEN2000 models for data comparison and consistency in their research. The government has determined that Normco Cascade, Inc. is the sole source for these previously owned chambers.

Paragraph 2:

This procurement is set aside for small businesses. Normco Cascade, Inc. is the current owner of the required chambers. The government anticipates making an award to Normco Cascade, Inc. within approximately 15 days after the notice, unless another organization is determined to have the capacity to meet the requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and the Product Service Code (PSC) is 6640 - Laboratory Equipment And Supplies.
