About this opportunity
The United States Census Bureau has issued a Request for Information (RFI) regarding Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) for the Census 2030 initiative, posted on April 28, 2026. This Special Notice is market research in nature and does not constitute a formal solicitation or binding commitment from the agency. The USCB is seeking information from qualified vendors who can furnish, deliver, install, and support FF&E across a nationwide network of offices. The RFI targets contractors capable of managing variable quantities and phased delivery timelines across up to 162 locations spanning all states, as well as Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. This notice represents the Census Bureau's effort to assess industry capabilities in advance of potential future contracting activities.
The primary objective of this RFI is to gather market intelligence on vendor capabilities to support the Census Bureau's three-year office expansion plan spanning 2027 through 2029. Interested contractors must submit responses by 4:00 pm EST on May 29, 2026, to the designated Census Bureau email addresses, with all submissions formatted according to specific requirements including seven distinct sections using Times New Roman 12-point font in Microsoft Word. The RFI specifies that offices will be deployed in three phases, beginning with 15 offices in 2027, followed by 10 offices in 2028, and approximately 137 local offices deployed throughout 2029. Key contractor requirements include the ability to deliver and install furniture within three days of notice, provide warranty coverage, and maintain on-site personnel capable of responding to repair or replacement needs within 72 hours. While the RFI does not establish formal eligibility restrictions, qualified vendors should demonstrate capacity for large-scale, phased furniture procurement and logistics across geographically dispersed locations.
