About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base is seeking sources for the design, fabrication, and delivery of three high factory-assembled UL Level 3 ballistic-rated welded steel booths, each measuring 4' x 6' x 8' and mounted on standard-hitch trailers. This Request for Information/Sources Sought is posted as a pre-solicitation notice to identify qualified contractors capable of meeting stringent ballistic protection and welded steel construction standards. Key contract requirements include factory assembly of the booths, inclusion of one ballistic sliding window per booth, and pre-wiring of receptacles, lights, switches, HVAC systems (air conditioning and heating), and load centers attached to each building. Contractors must demonstrate capability in prefabricated metal building manufacturing and mobile structure construction, with deliverables expected to be ready for operational deployment upon delivery. The response deadline for this pre-solicitation notice is April 10, 2026, providing interested vendors approximately eleven days to submit their capability statements and qualifications.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, meaning only small businesses are eligible to compete for the contract award. No incumbent contractor or current contract information is disclosed in the pre-solicitation documents. The contract does not specify a firm award value or budget range at this stage, though the scope includes three complete booth-trailer packages with fully integrated mechanical and electrical systems. The Statement of Work indicates that tie-in work and data/communications infrastructure installation will be performed separately by the Security Forces Squadron, meaning the contractor's scope is limited to manufacturing, pre-wiring, and delivery of the trailer-mounted structures. The procurement falls under NAICS code 332311 (Prefabricated Metal Building and Component Manufacturing) and PSC code 5410 (Prefabricated and Portable Buildings), reflecting the specialized nature of the fabrication requirement.
