About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Special Operations Command is seeking to procure and install a new Government-Owned Vehicle (GOV) wash rack system at Building 438, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. This pre-solicitation notice represents a market research effort to solicit industry feedback on system specifications and capabilities prior to formal solicitation. The project requires installation of a complete wash rack system capable of servicing three interior wash bays and one exterior sprayer area for oversized vehicles, including removal of the existing deteriorating equipment and full installation and testing of new pumps, equipment, and controls. Key technical requirements include two ceiling booms with 8-foot reach, wall-mounted brush boom configurations for each bay, foam brush stations, wand holders, brush buckets, and a wall-mounted 100-foot hose reel for the exterior sprayer area. The government has established a pre-solicitation deadline of April 13, 2026, and has provided detailed photographs of the current facility and equipment room to support vendor assessment, with additional specification updates anticipated in the coming weeks.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to small business entities. The government has published a budget estimate document that specifies required system components, including an IQ Self Wash System with three-bay configuration, dual-boom setups, a 1,800 GPD reverse osmosis system with digital monitoring, and comprehensive control and metering infrastructure with custom electrical modifications. While specific award values are not disclosed in the notice, the detailed equipment list indicates a significant capital investment spanning multiple system components, infrastructure modifications, and professional installation services. The sources sought effort is purely for market research purposes and does not constitute a contractual commitment, allowing the government to refine specifications based on industry feedback before issuing a formal solicitation. Interested contractors should prepare to demonstrate experience with commercial wash rack systems, installation capabilities in military facility environments, and the ability to meet detailed technical specifications for equipment, controls, and integration with existing facility infrastructure.
