About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District published a Special Notice regarding consolidating the acquisition of concrete repairs at the Bourne and Sagamore bridges located at the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, Massachusetts into a single contract. The estimated total cost of both repair projects is over $2 million.
The Special Notice provides information on the Corps' determination to consolidate the requirements to repair deteriorated concrete on the bridge decks and repair vertical concrete faces and manholes at the Sagamore bridge into a single contract. Consolidating the projects is estimated to reduce contractor and government administrative costs by 8.7% through efficiencies such as consolidated submittals, oversight, and design efforts. While estimated savings do not meet the 10% FAR threshold, consolidation is deemed necessary due to mission needs. The solicitation will be set aside for small businesses as a construction project with NAICS code 237210. No specific deadlines or eligibility criteria were provided in the Special Notice.
Notice text
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District proposes to consolidate the acquisition of concrete repairs at the Bourne & Sagamore Bridges located at the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, MA, by utilizing a stand-alone contract. This Special Notice serves as a notice of intent to consolidate the acquisition (see attached document).
Project Description: The existing Cape Cod Canal bridges undergo routine maintenance on the bridge deck, with the last contract having been completed in 2010. The maintenance typically includes removing the existing asphalt pavement, repairing the locations of failed concrete on the deck below, and providing a new asphalt wearing course upon completion.
