About this opportunity

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Commodity Procurement Program is seeking to procure canned vegetable soup for use in domestic food assistance programs, including the National School Lunch Program. The solicitation (No. 2000010882) requires vegetable soup in 24/1 case configurations with a total procurement quantity of 294,800 cases. This firm-fixed-price contract requires that all commodities and agricultural products be grown, processed, and prepared exclusively in the United States, with potential contractors needing to meet AMS vendor qualification requirements established under FAR Subpart 9.2. The solicitation includes potential HUBZone small business price evaluation preferences and features a probationary period for new contractors, limiting initial awards to 10 truckloads per product. Offers are due by July 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM Central Time, with bids required to be submitted through USDA's Web Based Supply Chain Management system.

The solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation, though it mentions potential small business set-asides including service-disabled veteran-owned, 8(a), and AbilityOne firm opportunities may be included. The procurement involves multiple delivery lots across different geographic regions throughout the United States, with quantities ranging from 200 to 4,400 cases per lot. Deliveries are scheduled from September 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 on an FOB destination basis to various locations across numerous cities and states. The solicitation does not specify exact award values or budget ranges, but the large quantity of 294,800 cases suggests a substantial procurement value. Performance locations include multiple delivery destinations throughout the United States, with destination quantities subject to adjustment based on program needs.
