About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service seeks quotations for calibration maintenance services at its Western Laboratory in Albany, California, with proposals due June 25, 2026 and questions due June 23. This is an unrestricted acquisition with no set-aside.
Place of performance is Berkeley, CA 94701 (Albany, California per statement of work). The contract requires ISO/IEC 17025 compliant calibration services for 51 pieces of laboratory equipment: 26 balances, 15 centrifuges, 5 shakers, 3 microscopes, 3 can seam micrometers, and 5 reference thermometers. All calibrations must use certified reference and working standards traceable to the International System of Units. On-site services are scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, excluding 10 federal holidays, with advance notice required. Reference thermometers will be calibrated off-site with vendor-provided pick-up and drop-off services. The contractor must provide calibration certificates documenting standards used, environmental conditions, work performed, technician name, and tolerance status, and service labels with technician name, service date, next service date (365 days), model number, and serial number.
The contract runs for one base year (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027) with two one-year option periods, for a maximum three-year total duration. Equipment is calibrated annually except thermometers, which are calibrated on a 24-month cycle. Offerors must price all periods using the provided spreadsheet and hold pricing firm for 90 calendar days from the offer due date. Award goes to the lowest price technically acceptable offeror. Offerors submit via email to Contract Specialist Eric Schnitzler (eric.schnitzler@usda.gov). The NAICS code is 541380, Testing Laboratories and Services; PSC is J066. Standard FAR and AGAR clauses apply, including Buy American, service contract labor standards exemptions, and electronic funds transfer.
