About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a cable assembly set with National Stock Number 0Q-4920-017255433-RQ, with a requirement for 6 units to be delivered FOB Origin. This is a pre-solicitation notice for a potential single-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, indicating the item is flight-critical and requires specialized source approval. Potential vendors must submit detailed technical data through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochure, with offers evaluated based on the comprehensiveness of their technical documentation and ability to meet strict engineering specifications. All responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond within 45 days of the notice's publication (30 days if under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will consider proposals received during this period, with the ultimate determination of competitive procurement at their sole discretion.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and appears to be open to qualified vendors who can meet stringent technical requirements. The proposed acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements and potentially the Buy American Act, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. While no specific award value is disclosed, the technical complexity suggests this is a specialized, potentially high-value procurement for aircraft maintenance equipment. The current solicitation notes the design of the part is unstable, with major configuration changes anticipated, which may impact long-term manufacturing requirements. The posting date is April 10, 2025, with responses due by May 27, 2025, indicating a relatively short window for potential vendors to demonstrate their capabilities and secure source approval.
