About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command is issuing a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to procure two Hyperfan 150-01 components (Part Number: 00-85001362-001) for the C-26 Vixen Radar system supporting the United States Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Maryland. This acquisition is being conducted under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, as only one responsible source can satisfy the requirements without significant service disruption. The C-26 radar is currently inoperable due to unserviceable fan components, and the original vendor no longer supports the system, making direct procurement from the fan supplier necessary. LMB North America, Inc. has been identified as the sole contractor capable of fulfilling this requirement, being the only commercially recognized seller of the required Image Systems software and hardware with no authorized distributors or resellers in North America. This informational notice was posted on September 18, 2025, with a due date of September 22, 2025, though it explicitly states this is not a request for proposals or quotes.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and will be awarded solely to LMB North America, Inc., located at 990 Biscayne Blvd. Suite 701, Miami, Florida, which is a subsidiary of LMB SAS, the original equipment manufacturer. The contract requires delivery of two new Hyperfan components within 26 weeks after release of order, with the components to be manufactured in France and shipped to the United States Test Pilot School. The acquisition will include duty-free entry provisions based on DFARS 252.225-7013, and the components must be delivered in appropriate shipping containers. Performance will occur at Patuxent River, Maryland, where the C-26 serves as the Test Pilot School's primary "flying classroom." The notice emphasizes that the government has made no commitments regarding solicitation issuance, contract awards, or responsibility for any expenditures by interested parties prior to contract award.
