About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify potential sources for repairing the C-130J TACAN Radio Control Set, a critical component used in combat search and rescue operations. The specific item has a National Stock Number (NSN) of 5826-01-439-2708 and Part Number 622-5147-00. The procurement strategy involves a five-year contract consisting of a base year and four additional one-year ordering periods, extending through fiscal year 2031. Potential contractors must demonstrate expertise in repairing electronic and precision equipment, specifically radio control sets with similar technical specifications. The market research will evaluate respondents based on their repair capabilities, quality assurance processes, technical expertise, and ability to provide commercial manuals and test procedures.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside for small businesses, meaning both large and small businesses can compete for the contract. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract will be structured around Best Estimated Quantities (BEQ) to support ongoing military logistics needs. The repair services will be critical for maintaining operational readiness of C-130J aircraft components. Potential contractors are encouraged to submit detailed responses demonstrating their technical capabilities, with submissions to be reviewed by the Government Logistics Manager. The procurement timeline suggests a June 2025 posting date, with responses expected before the May 7, 2025 due date, indicating an expedited research and potential solicitation process for these essential repair services.
