About this opportunity

The Air Force Materiel Command, Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract for thirty-four (34) gun boxes/safes with part number GB436837. The government has determined that McIntosh Safe Corporation is the only source capable of meeting their requirements through comprehensive market research. Interested vendors may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations via email demonstrating their ability to provide the required supplies before the anticipated award date of 13 April 2025. The contract will be processed under FAR Subpart 13.1, with the government retaining sole discretion to determine whether to compete the action based on responses received. Contract specialists Tyran Knaff and Charles Rodriguez, along with Contracting Officer Jeremy Wal, will manage the procurement process, with Richard Halloran serving as the Ombudsman to address potential contractor concerns.

This procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and will be awarded as a standard federal contract. The total contract value is not explicitly stated, but involves the procurement of 34 specific gun boxes/safes from McIntosh Safe Corporation. The contract will follow a firm-fixed price structure, indicating a predetermined pricing arrangement. A previous Intent to Sole Source posting received no additional sources, further supporting the sole source determination. The procurement falls under NAICS category 332999 for Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing and PSC category 7110 for Office Furniture. The government will evaluate potential alternative sources based on their ability to provide the exact specifications of the required gun boxes, with responses due by 28 March 2025 and an anticipated award date of 13 April 2025.

Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson AFB OH, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for thirty-four (34) gun boxes/safes (P/N GB436837) in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 13.1, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. The contract will be awarded to McIntosh Safe Corporation. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no written solicitation is available. All responsible sources that believe they can meet this requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Existence of the Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or the contracting officer. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. However, the Ombudsman does not participate in the preparation of solicitations, the evaluation of proposals or the source selection process; therefore, for matters on individual solicitations, please contact the Contract Specialists.
