About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) is soliciting proposals for a contract related to aircraft parts and auxiliary equipment, specifically a "BULLNOSE KEYBOARD" component. The solicitation requires potential offerors to have government-approved sources of supply and meet stringent technical qualifications. Distributors must submit an authorized distributor letter with their proposal, and failure to do so will result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive and technically unacceptable. Past performance will be evaluated through the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) and Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS), with acceptable performance being a critical requirement. The solicitation was posted on April 25, 2025, with proposals due by May 27, 2025, and includes provisions for emergency acquisition flexibilities.
The solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation and covers manufacturing within the NAICS category 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing. The procurement is specifically for miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components under PSC category 1680. While specific award values are not disclosed, the opportunity involves a detailed engineering source approval process to maintain part quality, requiring potential contractors to demonstrate unique design capabilities and manufacturing knowledge. The contract appears to be focused on maintaining technical standards for aerospace components, with strict requirements for distributors to prove their authorization and technical competence. The procurement is being managed by Contracting Officer Loraine Smith, who can be contacted at 445-737-4000 or LORAINE.SMITH@DLA.MIL for additional information.
