About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Headquarters Secretary of the Air Force has issued a Brand Name Notice of Intent for a 10G Network Upgrade project through the 934th Contracting Office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This special notice, posted on August 5, 2025, announces the agency's intent to award a brand-name, firm-fixed price contract specifically to CISCO for network equipment upgrades. The procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside and falls under NAICS code 334118 for Computer Terminal and Other Computer Peripheral Equipment Manufacturing. The 934th Communications Squadron requires this Cisco network equipment to maintain 10G compliance and support voice and data transmissions for NIPR upgrades at Minneapolis Air Reserve Base. This notice explicitly states that it is not a request for competitive offers, as the agency intends to proceed with a sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1 authority.
The primary objective of this notice is to provide advance notification of the agency's intent to conduct a brand-name procurement while allowing potential contractors an opportunity to submit comments or objections before the solicitation is issued. Interested parties have until August 11, 2025, to submit any offers, comments, or objections to the designated contracting officials Karen Gillen and Chin Dahlquist via email. The procurement will be conducted through the GSA 2GIT program to maximize competition among authorized Cisco resellers. The justification document indicates that extensive market research identified multiple potential vendors including World Wide Technology, ACC Computers, Mvation, and Sterling as possible contractors. If no objections are received by the deadline, the agency will proceed with issuing a brand-name solicitation under Cisco's brand, justified by the critical need for equipment interoperability with existing network infrastructure and the substantial costs that would result from complete network replacement with alternative equipment.
