About this opportunity
NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound is seeking Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) inspection and certification services for Hyster brand material handling equipment in support of Military Sealift Command vessels. This unrestricted brand name requirement mandates that only authorized Hyster distributors or servicers can perform the specialized inspections and certifications needed to maintain mission readiness and comply with federal safety regulations. The procurement will utilize FAR Part 12 and 13 procedures, with the solicitation anticipated to be posted on June 11, 2025, and closing approximately June 16, 2025. Interested parties must demonstrate their capability to respond to this requirement and must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. All inquiries regarding this solicitation should be directed to Amanda.j.cordell.civ@us.navy.mil, and prospective offerors are responsible for monitoring SAM.gov for the solicitation and any subsequent amendments.
No set-aside designation applies to this procurement, making it available to all qualified contractors who meet the OEM authorization requirements. The contract encompasses inspection and recertification services for a substantial fleet of material handling equipment including four 9.5K electric forklifts, six 6K electric forklifts, eight 6K diesel forklifts, two additional 9.5K electric forklifts, and four trailers. The required delivery date for all services is July 21, 2025, providing contractors with approximately one month to complete the comprehensive inspection and certification process. The government has determined this to be a sole source procurement based on the critical nature of OEM-authorized maintenance for ensuring equipment integrity and operational safety aboard MSC vessels. The brand name justification emphasizes that only Hyster OEM-authorized technicians possess the specialized knowledge and certification authority necessary to properly service this specific equipment.
