About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) has published a Special Notice seeking contractor assistance to implement a Body Worn Camera (BWC) Pilot Program at a designated facility that houses Adults in Custody. The FBOP is looking to leverage BWC technology to provide accountability and transparency for staff actions, support investigations of inmate allegations, and enhance training and procedural adherence to agency policies.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to gather information from vendors that can provide approximately 260 BWCs for four positions/posts as part of the pilot program. In addition to the BWC devices, the FBOP requires contractor support for ingesting, managing, and sharing the captured video and audio data. The RFI requests detailed information from vendors on their product offerings, licensing models, pricing, device specifications, and data management capabilities. This is an information gathering exercise and does not represent a formal solicitation for proposals. The FBOP intends to use the collected vendor information to refine the requirements for a future procurement opportunity.
