About this opportunity

The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, specifically the Rocky Mountain Region (Region 2), is conducting market research to identify qualified service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (SDVOB) capable of providing Vexar tubing and cedar stakes for tree planting in the Black Hills National Forest. The agency is seeking 75,000 Vexar mesh tubes (4" diameter x 18" tall) and 75,000 cedar stakes (30"-32" long, 3/8" diameter) with associated delivery requirements. This Sources Sought notice is designed to facilitate the Contracting Officer's review of the market base, acquisition planning, size determination, and procurement strategy for NAICS category 111421 (Nursery and Tree Production). Interested parties must submit their capabilities response by 9:00 AM EST on Monday, February 03, 2025, via email to Bryan Reeves with the subject line "Sources Sought #1240LP25Q0013SS". Submissions must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format and limited to two pages.

The procurement is specifically set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses with a size standard of $3,250,000 for the designated NAICS code. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves supplying tree planting materials for the Forest Service's reforestation efforts. No reimbursement will be provided for responses, and participants will not receive feedback on their submissions. Telephone inquiries are not accepted, and the government emphasizes that this is a market research exercise, not a formal request for quotes. The procurement appears to be focused on identifying potential vendors who can meet precise specifications for tree planting protection equipment, with an emphasis on supporting service-disabled veteran businesses in the forestry and nursery production sector.
