About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order to BioMerieux, Inc. for maintenance services on two specific laboratory instruments: one NucliSENS easyMAG and one bioMerieux EMAG. These instruments are critical for rapid extraction of nucleic acid from clinical samples, enabling timely identification of infectious agents. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, which allows single-source procurement when only one vendor can provide the required service. Interested companies are invited to submit capability statements by February 24, 2025, which will be evaluated to determine whether a competitive procurement might be feasible. The government will review submitted capability statements to assess potential alternative providers, though the final determination of competition remains at their sole discretion.
The contract will have a base performance period of twelve months and is not set aside for any specific business type. The total contract value will not exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $250,000. BioMerieux, Inc. is identified as the sole manufacturer, vendor, and service provider for these proprietary instruments, with no alternative distributors in the United States. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811210, with a large business size standard of $34.0 million. Potential respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and can submit their capability statements electronically to Kimala Winfield or Malinda Dehner at the specified NIH Clinical Center email addresses.
