About this opportunity

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is seeking sources for Automated Biotechnology Sequence Search Software and Maintenance Support, as well as unlimited access to the new data added to the biological sequencing database. The purpose is to allow patent examiners to determine whether a genetic sequence is novel and provide prior art for patent examination. The agency intends to award the requirement to a HubZone small business in accordance with the Patent and Trademark Office Efficiency Act. Other HubZone small businesses may express interest in competing by submitting a capability statement of no more than 5 pages demonstrating their ability to meet the requirements outlined in the attached Statement of Work. Responses are due by November 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, and the government will review them to determine which vendors are most likely to successfully meet the agency's needs and whether a competitive or sole-source procurement is appropriate.

The procurement is set aside for HubZone small businesses. The government has not provided any information about potential incumbents or the anticipated award value. The Statement of Work indicates a one-year base period with four one-year option periods for the Automated Biotechnology Sequence Search Software and Maintenance Support, as well as unlimited access to the new data added to the biological sequencing database.
