About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services, seeks proposals for biologic specimen repository and inventory management services. The selected contractor will store approximately 697,518 existing biologic specimens at their facility, ship selected specimens to CDC for subaliquotting, and receive and store specimens returned from CDC. The contractor must maintain an accurate inventory system and ship specimens to collaborators as required. Proposals are due by May 12, 2022 and will be evaluated based on technical approach, past performance, and price. Questions regarding the solicitation are due by April 26.
There is no set-aside designation. The work involves maintaining biologic specimens in vapor phase liquid nitrogen freezers and LN2 tanks, with aliquots split and stored separately. The incumbent contractor, Fisher BioServices, will transfer existing specimens to the new contractor as part of the existing contract. The base period of performance is nine months with four optional one-year extensions. Work will take place within the United States at the contractor's facility. Pricing must be fully cost supported and include transition costs to transfer specimens from the incumbent.
