About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture's Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region (Region 2) is preparing to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for heritage resource inventories and site evaluations across multiple national forests in Wyoming. Specifically, the contract will cover Class I, II, and III heritage resource assessments for the Bighorn National Forest in Big Horn, Johnson, Sheridan, and Washakie Counties, and the Shoshone National Forest in Park, Hot Springs, Sublette, Teton, and Fremont Counties. Contractors will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, and supplies to complete these comprehensive archaeological and historical site evaluations. The solicitation will utilize NAICS code 541990 for Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services, with a size standard of $19.5 million. All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) to be eligible for contract award.
The procurement is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside, with the potential for multiple firm-fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts to be awarded. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on May 19, 2025, with responses due by May 20, 2025, indicating a very tight timeframe for interested small businesses to prepare their proposals. The contract will fall under the Product Service Code (PSC) B503 for Special Studies/Analysis, specifically focusing on Archaeological and Paleontological assessments. While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, the NAICS size standard of $19.5 million suggests significant potential contract value. The Forest Service intends to make more than one award from this solicitation, providing multiple small businesses the opportunity to compete for these heritage resource inventory and evaluation contracts across Wyoming's national forests.
