About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center intends to issue a firm-fixed price contract to Becton, Dickinson and Company to perform preventative maintenance services on their BD FACSLyric Flow Cytometers Systems. These instruments are used to analyze cell populations for research and development of cellular therapies. The key requirements include that Becton, Dickinson and Company is the original equipment manufacturer and the sole authorized service provider, and any failure or improper service could potentially harm patients. The anticipated period of performance is a base year and four one-year option periods from December 2024 through December 2029. Interested parties may submit capability statements by November 8, 2024 for the government's consideration, though the determination to compete this contract is solely at the government's discretion.

This acquisition will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Part 13, as Becton, Dickinson and Company is deemed the only reasonably available source. There is no set-aside designation, and the agency has determined Becton, Dickinson and Company is the sole provider capable of the required services. The estimated value of the contract is not provided, but the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 811210 indicates a small business size standard of $34 million in average annual receipts.
