About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 15, is seeking qualified vendors to supply Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) carts for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. This Sources Sought Notice (Requirement 36C255-26-AP-1430) is an information-gathering effort to identify potential sources and their size classifications under NAICS code 541519 (Other Computer Related Services). Vendors must demonstrate capability to provide mobile, height-adjustable carts with medical-grade durable construction, configurable 3x3 medication bin systems, integrated rechargeable batteries supporting 8-12 hour shifts with hot-swap capability, secure mounting for computing devices compatible with Government BCMA software and EHR platforms, and non-porous surfaces resistant to hospital-grade disinfectants. The response deadline is April 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Central Time, with questions due no later than March 26, 2026. Interested vendors should submit responses to Tywanna Sparks (tywanna.sparks@va.gov) and Teresa Cabanting (teresa.cabanting@va.gov) at the Leavenworth, Kansas contracting office, providing company information, UEI number, details on existing federal contracts or GSA schedules, manufacturer authorization letters, and clear evidence of capability to meet specifications.

This procurement is not set-aside for any particular business category, and no incumbent contractor or award value range is specified in the notice. The hospital requires a total of 37 integrated BCMA carts: 30 carts equipped with standard mounts for PIV readers, antennas, electronic signature pads, cup dispensers, sani-wipe holders, and sharps holders with additional scanners, and 7 carts without these accessories. All carts must include mobile height-adjustable design with locking casters, ergonomic design suitable for clinical staff, and a minimum one-year warranty covering parts and labor. While this is a pre-solicitation notice rather than a formal solicitation, it represents the government's intent to move forward with a competitive procurement and provides vendors an opportunity to position themselves as potential sources prior to the formal request for proposals.
