About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps is seeking barge transportation services in Palau to move heavy equipment and containers during a specific timeframe from August 1-8, 2025. The procurement involves transporting 12 Quadcon containers and four pieces of heavy machinery including a grader, armored grader, wheeled tractor scraper, and medium crawler tractor, with a combined weight of approximately 188,306 pounds. The contractor will be responsible for the complete transportation process, including loading, transporting, and unloading equipment, as well as providing necessary material handling equipment, competent operators, and supporting services such as refueling and storage. An amendment has been issued to clarify that equipment will move from Peleliu Airfield to Malakal Port, requiring both ground transportation and barge services as detailed in Tasks 1 and 2 of the Performance Work Statement. Quotations are due by 4:00 PM on July 21, 2025, and must be submitted via email to Marine Corps contracting personnel, with vendors required to complete a Vendor Threat Mitigation Form and submit a Capabilities Plan for consideration.
This solicitation operates as an unrestricted competition with no set-aside designations, falling under NAICS code 488510 (Freight Transportation Arrangement) with a size standard of $20,000,000. The contract will be awarded on a Firm-Fixed Price basis, though specific budget ranges or award values are not disclosed in the documentation. The transportation operation involves a two-phase movement: ground transportation from Peleliu Airfield to the north dock port of Peleliu, followed by barge transfer to Malakal Port. Performance will occur entirely in Palau, with the period of performance concluding once all equipment has safely arrived at the designated destination as determined by the technical point of contact. The timeline is tightly constrained to the August 1-8, 2025 window when the equipment movement must be completed.
