About this opportunity
The United States Naval Academy, through the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), is hosting an Industry Day to discuss the Bancroft Hall Recapitalization Program (BHRP). This event will be conducted in two parts: a virtual forum on November 6, 2024, and an in-person panel discussion on January 9, 2025. The virtual forum will be limited to 15 contractors and aims to explore construction challenges at the Naval Academy, discuss acquisition strategies, and gather industry input. The event is being coordinated by the Public Works Department Annapolis and is designed to provide contractors with insights into upcoming construction opportunities at the Naval Academy's historic Bancroft Hall.
Contractors interested in participating must submit their questions and RSVP requests to BHRPIndustryDay@us.navy.mil by October 28, 2024. The program has several important considerations for potential participants, including required coordination through a Prime General Contractor and Project Labor Agreements for task orders exceeding $35 million. Construction work will be subject to specific time constraints, with work prohibited during key Naval Academy events such as Commissioning Week and Induction Day. The government plans to determine acquisition strategies for each project phase to maximize competition and small business participation. Additional constraints include standard construction hours from 8am to 5pm, no night shifts, and limited parking availability. The project will also need to comply with State Historic Preservation Office requirements, and multiple concurrent non-BHRP projects are expected to be ongoing at the facility.
