About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is issuing a Sources Sought Notice to conduct market research regarding five National Stock Numbers (NSNs) used in B-52 and C-17 aircraft Harpoon systems. Currently, Boeing (CAGE 0PXV4) is the sole approved source for these items. The agency is seeking to determine whether other companies can manufacture or legitimately obtain these components to establish additional approved sources. Any interested contractors must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package through the DoDSafe link via email to dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil with the subject line "Request a SAR Drop Off," including their CAGE code, the relevant NSN, and contact email address. The response deadline is April 8, 2026. Contractors must demonstrate that their products meet or exceed the quality and specifications of the currently approved Boeing items. This notice is strictly for market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment by the Government to award a contract.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation. Boeing is the current approved sole source contractor for all five NSNs identified in the attachments: NIIN 010509254, 013640030, 015521256, 016444779, and 016694154. The notice does not specify contract award values, budget ranges, quantities, or service timelines, as the primary objective is to identify alternative sources capable of manufacturing these aircraft parts. Any NSNs determined not to be sole source will not be considered for future procurement under this Sources Sought. No funds are available to compensate contractors for preparing responses to this market research announcement. Interested parties should note that submission of information is strictly voluntary and does not obligate the Government in any way.
