About this opportunity
This Special Notice is an Award Synopsis published by the Department of State US Embassy Ankara regarding the fabrication and installation of a new drop arm barrier system at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. The contract has already been awarded to Uz Turizm Otelcilik Ins. Taah. Bil Hayv. Ve Teks. Tic. Ltd. Sti. for $74,420.00 on September 23, 2025. The project involves replacing an existing wedge barrier system with a new hydraulic and manually operated drop arm barrier to control vehicle access at a newly designated gate. The barrier system will be modeled on an existing installation but adapted to accommodate a wider and level road profile. This procurement falls under NAICS Code 23799 for Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and was conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
The purpose of this award was to enhance security infrastructure at the embassy by implementing an improved vehicle access control system through full and open competition. The contract was awarded on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable basis with a Firm-Fixed Price structure and includes a 30-day performance period for completion. The original solicitation was issued on August 25, 2025, with an initial quotation deadline of September 12, 2025, which was subsequently extended through a solicitation amendment issued on September 5, 2025. Price reasonableness was validated against an Independent Government Cost Estimate of $100,000.00, demonstrating the awarded amount represents value to the government. Since this is an award synopsis rather than an active solicitation, there are no current participation opportunities or eligibility requirements for contractors, and interested parties can direct inquiries to ankara-gso-procurement-dl@state.gov for additional information about the completed procurement.
