About this opportunity

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has awarded a sole source contract valued at $118,727 to MERGENT, INC for the provision of historical fixed-income securities data for corporate issuers and related bond market analytics. The contract, numbered 50310225P0034, was awarded on September 2, 2025, following a determination that Mergent is the only known source capable of providing the required commercial off-the-shelf subscription database integrated with the Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) platform. The services include comprehensive issuer, issue-specific, and post-issuance information covering at least 15 years of historical data, which is necessary for the SEC's municipal bond research and oversight program. The contracting officer justified the sole source award under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), concluding that the specialized database services are reasonably available from only one source after posting a notice of intent and reviewing responses from the market.
