About this opportunity
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), a component of the Department of the Treasury, is seeking an Automated Parking Guidance System (APGS) for its District Currency Facility. This Sources Sought Notice is preliminary in nature and does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals, bids, or quotations, but rather serves to gather market information for project planning purposes. The BEP requires a comprehensive solution that includes design, network architecture, equipment delivery and installation, hardware and software programming, and testing capabilities for parking sensors, guidance signage, head-end components, gateway/base stations, servers, and web-based management tools with user-friendly graphical interfaces. Key objectives include improving parking operations through real-time availability data accessible via mobile application and web portal, establishing centralized monitoring and reporting systems, reducing time spent searching for parking spaces, and lowering carbon emissions associated with vehicle circulation. The system must demonstrate reliability and ease of maintenance for both hardware and software components. No specific evaluation criteria or proposal deadline has been established in this pre-solicitation notice, as this is an information-gathering phase only.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to small business concerns as defined by the Small Business Administration. No incumbent contractor, current service provider, or potential award value has been identified in this pre-solicitation notice. The notice was posted on December 23, 2025, with a due date for responses listed as January 5, 2026, though this date appears to apply to the information request rather than a formal proposal submission. The NAICS classification 812930 (Parking Lots and Garages) and PSC code V212 (Transportation/Travel/Relocation) have been assigned to this requirement. No specific quantity metrics, facility size details, or service timeline parameters have been disclosed at this preliminary stage, as the BEP is still in the market research phase to inform future solicitation development.
