About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command has issued a Special Notice for Audio Visual (A/V) Repair services, specifically announcing their intent to award a sole source contract to Miami Tribal Systems Integrators (MTSi) LLC. This notice is not a competitive solicitation but rather a notification of a non-competitive award under FAR 13.106-1(b), which allows for sole source procurement when only one supplier is deemed available to meet the specific requirement. The contract involves repair services for the 81st Training Wing's Crestron Crisis Action Team (CAT) Audio Visual system. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and PSC code J059 for maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment components.

The primary objective behind this sole source award is to expedite critical repairs to the Crestron control system while achieving cost savings and operational efficiency. The government justifies the non-competitive approach based on MTSi's existing familiarity with the system, having already performed extensive troubleshooting and diagnostics, which would eliminate up to $6,500 in additional diagnostic fees and save at least 30 days compared to engaging a new contractor. Despite the sole source intent, interested parties may submit quotes and capability statements via email to the designated contracting officers by 2:00 PM CST on August 20, 2025. The urgency of the requirement is heightened by the local hurricane season timing, making prompt system restoration critical for mission operations. While market research identified several potential vendors, the government determined that continuing with the incumbent contractor provides the most advantageous solution for this specific repair requirement.
