About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command, specifically the 2nd Contracting Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to Prometheus Security Group, Inc. The contract pertains to the procurement of a Long Range PTZ infrared 640 30/90MM Defend-IR Camera system for the 2nd Security Forces Squadron. This procurement will be conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b). The sole source justification is based on the camera's compatibility with current video management systems at Barksdale AFB and its unique approval status by higher authority. Market research has confirmed that Prometheus Security Group Global is the only vendor capable of meeting the government's specific requirements.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors of the government's intent to award a firm-fixed-price contract without full competitive bidding. Contractors who wish to challenge the sole source decision must submit an interest letter via email that demonstrates their technical expertise, certifications, and authorization to compete for the acquisition. The letter must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government and would not be cost or time prohibitive. The notice is specifically targeted at small businesses, as indicated by the "Total Small Business" set-aside designation. Interested parties should note the key deadlines: the notice was posted on February 27, 2025, with responses due by March 5, 2025. Contractors seeking more information can contact the contracting personnel: SSgt Tyler Parsons (Contract Specialist) or SrA Alisia Davis (Contracting Officer) using the provided contact information. The government emphasizes that this notice does not constitute a solicitation document and will not reimburse any costs incurred by responding firms.
