About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior's US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified contractors capable of providing comprehensive on-site service, maintenance, and software support for Astoria Pacific A2 Segmented Flow Analyzer instruments and 411-L autosamplers. The National Water Quality Lab (NWQL), located in building 95 at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado, requires timely and reliable maintenance services for seven instruments that analyze thousands of samples annually for nutrient content in various matrices. The procurement falls under NAICS 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC J066 (Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Instruments and Laboratory Equipment). This is a Sources Sought Notice rather than a formal solicitation, meaning submission is voluntary and all costs associated with responding are the responsibility of the submitter. The notice was posted on April 20, 2026, with a response deadline of April 24, 2026, allowing potential contractors only four days to submit information regarding their capabilities to perform this requirement.

This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designations for small businesses or other protected categories. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers, nor does it disclose specific award values or budget ranges for the potential contract. No timeline for contract performance, service level agreements, or other quantitative performance metrics are detailed in this market research notice. The primary objective at this stage is to assess market availability and capability rather than to solicit formal proposals, which means responses will inform the government's acquisition strategy for developing a future formal solicitation.
