About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking to procure 20 Moog slip rings (Part Number D1619-100P1) with NSN 5999-01-442-3976 for sustainment of rotary joints in Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) field radar sites. These specialized slip rings are critical components that electrically interface the rotating antenna with the stationary pedestal, comprising six RF paths and 20 slip ring connections. The solicitation (Number 6973GH-25-R-00173) is being managed by the FAA Logistics Center Acquisition, with a submission deadline of June 16, 2025, at 1400 CT. All offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and will be evaluated based on being the lowest-priced, technically acceptable offer that meets the solicitation's terms and conditions. The procurement falls under NAICS code 335312 (Motor and Generator Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,250 employees.
There is no specific set-aside designation for this contract, making it open to all qualifying vendors. The place of performance is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While specific award value details are not explicitly stated, the procurement is structured as a firm fixed-price contract for the 20 Moog slip rings. The solicitation emphasizes that the Moog slip ring D1619-100P1 is the only FAA-approved version to be used in the ASR-9 radar, which may limit potential competition. Vendors must carefully review Section L for proposal submission instructions and Section M for evaluation factors and criteria. Interested parties are required to include the solicitation number 6973GH-25-R-00173 in all email correspondence and ensure they meet the SAM registration requirements throughout the contract performance period.
