About this opportunity

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), an agency within the Department of Commerce, has published a Special Notice regarding its intent to award a sole-source contract to Campbell Scientific Inc. (CSI) for the hardware and software integration of new sensors for the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) 2.0 system. NOAA is undertaking a service life extension of the ASOS and requires support services for the operations and maintenance of the data collection, system processing, and dissemination subsystems.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide public notice and an opportunity for other interested parties to submit statements of capabilities by July 16, 2024, which NOAA will consider in determining whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. The sole-source contract with CSI will be a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, with the statutory authority for the sole-source award being FAR 6.302-1, as NOAA has determined that CSI is the only responsible source that can meet the agency's requirements for the ASOS 2.0 system integration and support services.
