About this opportunity
The Department of the Army published this Special Notice to solicit proposals for its Applied Small Business Innovation Research program. The program seeks innovative research and technologies from small businesses to support the Army's goal of conducting Multi-Domain Operations by 2035 through game-changing soldier capabilities.
The Special Notice provides details on the Army's SBIR program and opportunities that will be announced on an ad hoc basis under the Broad Agency Announcement. Eligible small businesses may submit Phase I proposals up to $250,000 or Direct to Phase II without Phase I up to $1,900,000 by deadlines ranging from 45-90 days in response to active opportunities. Evaluation will consider technical merit, commercial potential and qualifications of investigators with an emphasis on transition to support the Army's modernization priorities and Multi-Domain Operations concept. Awards may include contracts, other transaction agreements or other instruments at the contracting officer's determination.
Notice text
The future Army must be capable of conducting Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) as part of an integrated Joint Force across an array of scenarios in multiple theaters by 2035. The MDO concept describes how the Army will support the Joint Force in the rapid and continuous integration of all domains of warfare – land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace – to deter and prevail as we compete short of conflict, and fight and win if deterrence fail. The Army must provide game-changing capabilities to our Soldiers, leveraging the tools to operate at the pace of innovation. In order to capitalize on small business innovation, the Army has implemented a new approach to advertise SBIR funding opportunities on an ad hoc basis, outside of the three pre-determined announcements issued at the DoD level. SBIR Opportunities will be announced under this BAA. Only proposals submitted in response to an active corresponding Opportunity will be evaluated for funding.
Please see attached BAA announcement document for further details.
